by South Beach Park is a wonderful place to go for a walk. It has a nice paved trail from the parking lot to the jetty, great for bikes. There’s also the Old Jetty Trail that’s more rugged with many branching paths to explore. There’s a campground with tents for those who like to camp.
Also, the jetty is walkable, with a great view of Newport bay. Though be careful if you want to walk there! There are some dunes and a large beach, remember to bring a jacket as it can be cold and windy.
But be wary during the summer months, mosquitoes can be horrible. It’s best to walk these trails during the winter months when they are hibernating.
