Some would think just having two monitors is way too much information but for me, I can never have too many! I already had a three monitor setup, but then I wonder to myself “how far can I go?”. Since my Upgraded, I have been wanting the extra screens. This would give me the ability to see everything at once without overlap or dealing with virtual desktops.
In the last few months, I manage to procure some old computer monitors. All of these monitors have mounting brackets all I needed was some wall mounts. Once I got some, I found out The plastic drywall screw anchors to hold the mounts onto the wall would pull out as soon as I put any weight on it. Luckily there where some wood available that day, giving me a solid surface for the mounting.
Graphics Card Woes
For the setup, I had two graphics cards A Evga Gtx 1080 card and an AMD Radeon HD 6450 all this give me 7 ports in total. But Sadly the Gtx 1080 only supports 4 monitors at any given time even though it had 5 ports. This wasn’t an issue As I remove the keyboard monitor, It didn’t get much use anyway. Now I got Another issue! one of my monitors was black?! I did have it running with six, so why is one black? I tried researching it online but with no prevail. But then I discover the issue after I was switching monitors around. The AMD card didn’t like having two different monitors being with different resolutions. So I switch the monitors around so that can be matching, and it started working.
Monitor Overload
Maybe not the most impressive setup in the world or best monitors. I didn’t care! how many people have 6 monitor setups? not many that’s for sure! Thought now thinking about it, I don’t really use the top monitors very much. I’m sure I’ll find more uses over time. regardless I’m still happy, And now I’m planning for even more!
